It’s About Damn Time, Part 2

October 30, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday we had our second to last home game before the winter break starts. Coming into this game we had one win, two ties, and six losses (four in a row), having only scored six goals in nine games, with eighteen goals scored against us. Not good at all. But yesterday we turned things around, and let’s hope it stays that way. Our star forward ended his season-long drought with a hat trick, which, more than anything, is excellent for his confidence. At half-time it was 3-0, and after one of our players got his second yellow card in the 58th minute and was sent off, we scored another three goals, despite being a man down. In the 84th minute another one of our players got his second yellow card, but by that time the game was already decided. Our goal at that point was to keep a clean sheet. It was amazing that despite being a man down we completly spread the other team out and just pick them apart.

Anyway, now we are no longer the team with the worst record in the league. As you can see from the table here, we are now third-to-last. It’s a start at least.

It’s About Damn Time

October 20, 2006 · 1 Comment

I finally passed my chemistry test. It’s about damn time since I already failed it 3 times! From this whole experience I’ve learned that studying the first time around makes life a lot easier. Now I’m just waiting on word on my math test.

Boring Tests

October 17, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Not much new to report. Just a bunch of random stuff.

Last Thursday I took a bitch of a math test. I was a make up test for the one that 70% of the class failed at the end of last semester. I wouldn’t be surprised if even more people failed this one. For me it’s going to be close, I really can’t judge it one way or another. Most of the stuff I answered I was 90% sure on, but we’ll see. If I passed, I get to have my oral exam over the last four semesters of math on the 31st of October.

Tommorrow I have chemistry, which should go well. It’s pretty easy, and I’ve studied pretty hard for it.

The only other interesting thing to report is that I was at a party last Friday with the student here in Constance that got arrested for being a terrorist. I guess he wasn’t a terrorist and let him go. I even saw him at the university today. Pretty exciting, huh? (See, this is proof that all that studying really isn’t healthy for me.) I’m just hoping that my life becomes a little bit more normal after my oral exam on the 31st.

Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing well.

Volksfest

October 3, 2006 · Leave a Comment

A couple of weekends ago I went to the Volksfest in Stuttgart, which is something along the lines of the Oktoberfest in Munich, just better. I took a bunch of pictures and finally got them posted at this website. You can view them here.

3 Years

October 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

As of yesterday I have been living in Constance, Germany for three years. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. It’s been a lot of fun, too. There was the New Year’s in Prague, the week in Paris, four weeks in Florence, a week in Athens, a week in London, not to mention all the time I’ve spent in Stuttgart and Munich and all of the various other German cities that I’ve breifly visited. World Cup was amazing, as well. Then of course there is the German beer, which is cheap and 10 times better than most anything I’ve ever had anywhere else. (Prague was an exception.) There probably a million other cool things I’ve done that I’m forgetting, but I think you get the point.
